Our Little Man

I can't believe that 9 whole months have passed since our sweet Goob joined our family.  If you ask Mr Medic his opinion on little babies he would respond "I hate the first year!"  You would think I might say something similar, but I've got momnesia!  I suffer on a daily basis and seem to quickly forget the not so fun moments.  Although this babe is far from sleeping through the night, I am somehow able to function from day to day.  And he sure makes up for rough nights with his sweet smile and contagious giggle during the day.

Here are some fun facts about Goob:

• First tooth on January 26, 2013
• Crawling with more coordination/consistency on February 8, 2013
• Pulls himself up for the first time on February 22, 2013 (and subsequently falls out of the crib)
• Starts waving to someone at church on February 24, 2013
• Second tooth on March 7, 2013
• Loves to chew on baby wipes (don't let you kids do that.  They can make them go blind...its a battle every time I change a diaper)
• Is a little more snuggly than Twodles ever was
• Is a blankie boy just like his big brother, and a binkie boy not at all like his big brother
• Wants to eat normal food rather than pureed baby food
• Likes to drink from a sippy cup
• Starts scaling the couch on March 19, 2013
• Is going through a bit of a separation anxiety phase right now
• Has a rolling giggle when he is tickled 
• 18 lbs as of March 18, 2013
• Doesn't handle teething well
• Seems to play more independently than Twodles did
• Has sensitive skin and the cutest little birth mark on his left cheek you can see above
• HE LOOKS MORE LIKE ME THAN HIS DADDY!!!!!!
• Nicknames include:  Goob, Goobie JJ, Goobie Loob, Goober, etc

Time Flies When You're...Sleep Deprived

As of yesterday we've managed to keep Baby Boy around for FOUR WHOLE MONTHS!  I'll just give myself a little pat on the back.  It feels like a pretty big accomplishment!   Having a new baby in the house can be rough on everyone, we've got the bags under our eyes to prove it.  Even still, we have felt so blessed to have him to snuggle and love and squoosh.  I hear moms wish their little ones would stay babies, and cringe at every sign of them growing older.  I've never really experienced that, until recently!  I could enjoy his baby-ness forever!

It's gone by so fast and I feel like so much has happened.  We are so happy to have this little man in our lives.  Even Twodles gets all up in his space any chance he can.  Poor Scooter's gonna have to learn to enjoy the constant mauling.

A few highlights about Baby Boy:

He has a couple of nicknames-

"Scooter" because he scoots by kicking his legs as if he's swimming, and is now semi-mobile.

"Tin-Tin" his cooing sounds like he's speaking Hebrew.  Tinok is Hebrew for Baby Boy.

"Coo-pah-j" Twodles calls him that.

He's pretty strong (willed)-

Scooter sleeps best swaddled, but he does a pretty good job at always breaking free from the straightjacket swaddler.  It's going to be an interesting transition.

He's getting ready for food-

Whenever we are eating he follows whatever it is that we put in our mouth.  We are just waiting for the drool to hit the floor before we give in and let him indulge on the greatness of food.

He's a bouncer-

He loves to bounce himself up and down while standing on your lap.

He's still as smily as ever and so adorable-

We sure love you bud, and can't wait for all the many more smiles you'll bring to our faces!
