What to Do?

Scripture of the Day: "...Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." -2 Nephi 32:3 (The Book of Mormon)

Isn't it easy to feel as if we are left to our own devices and our own intelligence when trying to figure out what we should do?

I believe that any question we have or decision we are trying to make can be resolved through the words of Christ, or the scriptures.  Sometimes it can be very direct with a specific principle being taught straight from the words, but often it may not be.  We may not find spelled out word for word things like "yes you should buy a home" or "space your children out just a bit more" but as we read, our minds and hearts will be opened to receive answers to our questions.

I remember, in a church congregation while I was serving a mission, a mother recall an experience she had that was a perfect example of this principle.  Her children had been sleeping through the night for a long time, but soon found them waking often.  She could not figure out what was wrong or what she could do to solve the problem.  She said that one day as she was reading scripture and pondering she had a distinct impression that she needed to go to a specific department store and buy some down comforters, that her children were cold.  Reluctantly she went and to her surprise she found some feather down comforters marked down on an excellent sale.  She took them home and that night put them on her children's beds, and sure enough they were back to sleeping through the night.

To some it may seem insignificant, but anything that is important to us is important to the Lord.  I have had many instances like this, as well.
